University College of Wales, Aberystwyth
The University College of Wales, Aberystwyth was founded in 1872 as the first university institution in Wales. It purchased an IBM 1620 in 1961, and an Elliot 4130 in 1967 both of which supported punch card data entry. By 1969 the 700 jobs per week were being run by 50 users on the Elliot 4130.1 The University College of Wales, Aberystwyth became an independent university in 2007 and is now known as Aberystwyth University.2
